Bhubaneswar—The Conference of Religious India (CRI)-Odisha regional unit has decided to undertake outreach programmes to mark the Year of Concreted Life declared by Pope Francis.

Besides some renewal programmes for its members of the region, CRI Odisha has planned to do something concretely as a region in memory of the Consecrated Year, said Sister Marykutty Parayil, CRI Odisha president, who is also the provincial of Hand Maids of Mary – Snehadeepti Province in Jharsuguda.

The included to help out in some interior places in Kandhamal district, the epicenter of 2007 and 2008 anti-Christian persecution by hardliner Hindu nationalist fringes, like providing cots in hostels run by Catholic church or making arrangements for generator or solar power where there is no regular power supply. The activities will be finalized in consultation with the responsible people of the area, Sister Parayil said.
