Panaji — Around 40 children, aged eight to 16, will participate in The Times of India’s painting event on May 15 from 9 pm to midnight at Panaji’s church square.

The children, under the guidance of artist Raj Bhandare, will break all boundaries to express themselves with water-based paint on the road below the Panaji church.

The public road will become a canvas, which will teach the children to undo all the influences on them from their everyday life and understand that there need not always be limitations.

The road painting will become an open exhibit.

Bhandare said that the road painting is not just an ordinary painting exercise involving children, but it will be an instrument in carrying out a mind shift, The Times of India reported.

“One needs to understand that creativity leads to your spiritual burst,” said the artist.

Bhandare strongly believes that such an exercise will help explore the true potential of a child.

The event in Panaji is open to children from across the state.

During last year’s Goa for Kids event, Bhandare got the children to create a masterpiece on a massive canvas, where all the children painted simultaneously. This year the canvas has only got larger.

Participation for the event requires preregistration. To book your spot to enter artist Raj Bhandare’s creative world, call 9049644477 or 3045066 between 10am and 5pm. You can also send in your registrations to goaforkidsclub@gmail.com. There are limited seats available.
