Bhubaneswar—A central team from Delhi is visiting to Kandhamal district to see the status of Forest Right Act in the district.

PP Mathur special Rapporteur and Damodar Sarangi, special rapporteur, National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi, is visiting the district from August 17-20.

According to Integrated Tribal Devolopment Agency (ITDA) , Phulbani (district head quarter of Kandhamal) during their stay at Kandhamal, they will visit to tribal habitats in Kandhamal district to verify the status of implementation and enforcement of the Forest Right Act 2006, Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) Presentation of Atrocities) act 1989,The Odisha Land Reform Act 1980.

After completion of their Kandhamal visit they will meet Shri Gokul Chandra Pati, IAS, chief Secretary, Government of Odisha and share the information gathered in course of the field visits and take his views on the same.
