The item number, ‘Daddy Mummy’ is a recreated or dubbed version of the Telugu chartbuster ‘Aakalesthe Annam Pedatha’ (SHANKAR DADA ZINDABAD). Rendered by the composer himself, Devi Sri Prasad and MM Manasi, the number is extremely rhythmic and should appeal, but not quite like Devi’s ‘Dhinka Chika’ (READY), which found universal acceptance.
Sonu Nigam’s iconic romantic number from T-Series’ super hit album DEEWANA, ‘Iss Qadar Pyaar Hai’ finds a rehashed version (by Arko) and is sung with high emotions by Ankit Tiwari, though one prefers the original. Ankit’s diction is faulty at quite a few times (‘qadar’ is ‘kadar’). On a side note, just recently T-Series had used the title song of DEEWANA (sung by Arjit) in their production venture, LEELA to good result.
Yo Yo Honey Singh comes in with a full-fledged highly rhythmic dance number, ‘Aankhon Aankhon’, that is sure to herald his comeback in a strong way and will definitely prove to be a chartbuster. The song is in a different alley and is not all rap, as associated with Yo Yo.
Sunil Kamath impresses with a flawless rendition in the soft, soulful and superbly melodious, ‘Kinna Sona’ composed by Mithoon. The love ballad that eulogises the beloved boasts of simple but heart touching lyrics and nice arrangements.
The intense romantic mood continues with ‘Meri Zindagi’ and is sung well by Rahul Vaidya. The piano, violin drills and guitar riffs and a touch of drums in the background make for a lovely orchestra, but the tune is very heard before and one is instantly reminded of ‘Meri Zindagi Hai Kya Ek Kati Patang Hai’ (in mukhda).
To conclude, one feels slightly let down by the musical offering, especially because BHAAG JOHHNY is a T-Series and Vikram Bhatt production and one always expects extraordinary stuff from the audio/ music giants. Just two songs impress, ‘Kinna Sona’ and ‘Aankhon Aankhon Ne’. The lacklustre audio will make running tough for BHAAG JOHNNY when it releases all over 25th September.
