Neotan: In the wake of global atmosphere of fear and increased threat to Pope Francis, a small village in Miao Diocese made special prayers for the safety and good health of Pope Francis and for world peace during the Eucharistic Procession, celebrating the Feast of Christ the King on November 22.

The world is still reeling under the shock of the recent terror attacks in Paris, Mali and many other parts of the world. There is also increased threat to the life of Pope Francis amid this growing culture of terror.

Explaining to the faithful the importance of praying for the safety of Pope Francis in the given context of today’s world, Fr. Felix Anthony, the Paris Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Neotan, requested them to make pray earnestly for the Pope at the start of the procession.

“The world is going through a difficult phase. Every day morning we are greeted with the sad news of innocent people getting killed with mindless and heinous act of terrorism. We must pray for Peace and for our Pope during this procession”, he said.

The people participating in the solemn Eucharistic Procession recited Divine Mercy Chaplets and special prayers for peace in the world. “I feel saddened by what is happening in the world these days. Everyday we hear about terror attacks in some part of the world. We pray to Christ, the King of Peace, for peace in the world and for the good health of our Pope”, said Mrs. Likhro Mossang, the women leader of the Parish.

The Eucharistic procession began from one end of the village and, moving through the village, concluded in the Parish Church with special prayers for world peace and for Pope Francis.
