Rome: Indian Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi Thursday met Pope Francis in the Vatican.

Satyarthi and the Pope talked briefly outside of St. Peter’s Square. The conversation was lost in translation, as the crowds volume grew in intensity, Rome Reports TV News Channel reported.

The Pope and Satyarthi greeted each other with a “Namasthe,” the customary way of salutation, by joining their palms together.

Satyarthi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for his campaign for the rights of children and young people.

He founded Save the Childhood Movement in 1980 and helped protect the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries.
