Raipur: As Umar Khalid, the JNU student who is in jail on the charges of sedition took the name of AAP leader and tribal activist Soni Sori in his speech on the college campus, it has become even more important for the Bastar police to solve the case of attack on Sori, says the press release issued by Bastar IG, SRP Kalluri. Kalluri also announced a cash reward of Rs one lakh to the one who will help police in cracking the case and Rs 30,000 will be given to the one who will help cops in the arrest of those who attacked Sori on February 20.

The press release issued by Bastar IG also stated that Soni Sori who is admitted in a hospital in Delhi is not cooperating in investigations yet police is satisfied with its work pace and the case will be cracked soon, Times of India reported.

The press release also stated that as Communist Party Of India (CPI) spokesperson Vikalp too has mentioned about cases like attack on Soni Sori, Malini Subramanyam, BBC journalist Alok Putul and members of Jagdalpur legal aid (JagLAG), it has become even more important for police to crack the cases which seems to be pre-planned and are a part of huge controversy against police.

“Hours after the controversial Facebook post of Bastar DM Amit Kataria which says that attack on tribal activist Soni Sori was staged, now Bastar IG SRP Kalluri has made a ridiculous announcement connecting the Soni Sori attack with JNU’s Umar Khalid. I am really annoyed with these officials who are making statements like politicians and going nothing on ground to arrest those who attack on Soni,” rued Sanket Thakur, state convener AAP.

“Congrats Umar Khalid, because of you, Bastar police is taking Soni’s case seriously,” laughed Thakur!

He added that will Bastar police start taking everything seriously only when the issues will be included in the speech of Umar Khalid?

Adivasi school teacher turned politician, Soni Sori, was on Saturday attacked in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist-hit Dantewada district by three unidentified men, who allegedly threw on her what appeared to be acid. Sori was attacked near Jawanga village under Geedam police station when she was returning home late in the evening.
