Guwahati — A group of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and IT (Information Technology) students conducted a Workshop cum Training Program on Computer Literacy for the students of Jalukbari Higher Secondary School in Guwahati, as a part of their social commitment program.

The programme held on 28 th April was conducted by a group of five students from Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) MCA (Master of Computer Application) final year students – Anjan Borah, Abhijit Mohanta, Runjun Das, Saiky Patowary and Rimi Chutia.

The Programme was coordinated by ADBU CSE faculty members Mr. Alok Choudhury, Mr. Syed Sazzad Ahmed and Dr. Uzzal Sharma.

Dr Sharma says, “The basic objective was to create awareness on Computer Literacy and current know how in the field of ICT (information and communications technology) including the aspect of cyber crime awareness.”

The programme was concluded in a lively manner by organizing a Quiz completion among the participating students. The winning students were awarded with certificates.

“It is a very impressive initiative by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and IT of ADBU. Students are benefited by the initiative,” says Principal, Jalukbari Higher Secondary School.

“The programme helped me to increase my social activity in sharing computer knowledge with students. Now I feel more enthusiastic to carry on this program in other schools,” says Anjan Borah an MCA 6th Semester student.

Rimi Chutia another MCA 6th Semester students feels that, “It was a platform where I could share my gathered knowledge and thus increase my experience and presentation skills. I will be very grateful to join in this kind of activity in the coming future.”
