Dimapur: Nagaland’s Parliamentary Secretary for Industries and Commerce Amenba Yaden on May 22 flagged off the Nagaland Chapter of India-Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Car Rally.

The rally’s main objective is to map connectivity, promote trade and investment, tourism and sports and to re-establish cultural and historical linkages. It coincides with the yearlong celebration of 25 years of India’s relationship with the Association of South East Asian Nations.

The Northeast Federation of International Trade organized the rally in collaboration with the Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Thai Industries, nagalandpost.com reported.

The Nagaland chapter was flagged off during a brief program at Hockey Ground, Chumukedima Police Complex, in Dimapur, the commercial capital of the northeastern Indian state.

The rally starting from Guwahati will culminate on June 9 at Yangon in Myanmar covering a distance of 5,000 km. Altogether 68 participants from different professions and 17 vehicles will be participating in the rally.
