Here is a novel that can be placed in the hands of the teenagers or youth or anyone for that matter, without any fear.

It is a story that tells us what we love most will come back to us if we patiently wait.

The story revolves around two brothers: Aamir and Dhruv. Having lost their parents at very young age the elder took their place to care for Dhruv. The affection between then can be seen through every line of this book.

The elder brother is even willing to give up his loving and caring friend Anvi, so as to be close to his younger brother all the time. He is also scared of her passion for investigative journalism. But she was a pillar of strength and confidence to him.

He often recalled her word: “You have to avoid these depressing thoughts. The more attention you give to them, the stronger they grow.”

It was difficult to make her turn away from her passion. Anvi’s words of wisdom of course made him happy: “It is not the criminals or gangsters or terrorists that are a threat to our nation. The real threat is the attitude of the people. I want to make a difference, even if it is the tiniest thing ever done. I’d rather die like a dog on the street, but not of a heart attack, watching TV at home.”

His little brother Dhruv, passionately in love with a college student Vratika, failed to understand the insightful pieces of advice given by the elder sibling.

“It’s not only what happens to you that determines your happiness, brother; it also has to do with how you think about what happened to you and how much that matters to you…..You’re happy or unhappy because of what you think, feel and do. The moment passes. We walk on and so does everybody else,” Aamir told him.

For Aamir Dhruv is the best gift life has given him. More than just brothers, they are the beginning and end of their family.

Dhruv’s happiness was the only purpose of his life.

The sudden disappearance of Aamir from his life completely changed Dhruv.

The timely friendship of Mithun, his office colleague, surprises Dhruv and they build up a close relationship.

He surprises everyone by offering his kidney for Mithun’s ailing brother, thus giving him a new life. He did it for his missing brother.

In the heart of his heart he believed that Aamir, missing in the Mumbai bomb blast, would return.

Entry of Sachi into his life when he was down in the dumps overturns Dhruv’s life and transforms him to be his true self: loving, affectionate and selfless.

Would Aamir return? Would Sachi walk with him for ever?

And I must say, generally, I scan through a novel to get the story. But this is a book I have read every word, because it is very inspiring and touching.
