Birmingham(UK) : The Bishop of Syro-Malabar Eparch of Great Britain , Joseph Srampickal has called for celebrating the Mass (Qurbana) more frequently in English for the younger generation growing up in Europe. He was speaking to participants of the Second Saturday Bible convention held on Dec 10 in Birmingham , UK by Sehion Ministries.

Almost 3,000 people converged at the convention center in West Bromwich for rosary, Mass, Adoration and catechesis. The convention is the largest regular gathering of Catholics in the whole of Britain.

The prelate reminded that the younger generation being the future of the Church needs to actively participate in Mass and understand the faith. For this reason, it is essential that where young people meet, the Mass is celebrated in English for their deeper understanding of the liturgy.

The bishop celebrated the special Mass at the Bethel Convention Centre , Birmingham, along with Fr. Soji Olikkal, Director of Sehion Ministries, UK .

Although the bishop has celebrated Syro Malabar Qurabana in English previously, this was his first English Qurbana after his ordination as bishop. He called it a “faith renewing experience” for himself and the Syro-Malabar faithful in Europe.
