Jaipur: Police arrested four people from Shambhupura village of Banswara on Wednesday, for allegedly beating up a couple, both cousins, who had eloped to Gujarat. The duo was also paraded naked in the village, cops said.

After tracking them down, the couple was brought back to the village and thrashed publicly, before being paraded naked throughout the village. Eyewitnesses even made a video of the act, which went viral on social media.

he clip caught the attention of the cops, who arrested the fathers of the duo, along with two other villagers. “The boy has been hospitalised in a critical condition while the girl is under our protection,” said Ravindra Singh, SHO Kalinjara.

The accused have been booked for rioting, wrongful restraint and confinement, wrongly causing hurt and sexual harassment, added Singh.
