Beef, peacock and a heartless Major Gogoi were mere diversions from some really damaging news for the Sanghi Government in the past few weeks. These are some of the things they diverted your attention away from
*******************
1. Major slow down in Indian economy thanks to the dicktator’s hare-brained demonetisation. GDP growth rate falling to 6.1 percent for the last quarter, despite a new method to calculate GDP. With the old method, the GDP numbers would look much worse, at 4.1. Gives you an idea how much we have slumped from UPA days. Even dressing up the numbers couldn’t save them.

2. The Union Health Ministry hid from the public and from the World Health Organisation the fact that three adults were infected with the Zika virus in Gujarat. The cases were kept under wraps so that the Vibrant Gujarat summit could be organised as planned before. A travel advisory would have caused the foreign delegates to stay away (From The Hindu editorial — By not disclosing the information in real time, India behaved as China did in the case of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in 2003. China was then widely criticised by the global community for trying to cover up the outbreak — by doing so, the Chinese government was arguably partly responsible for SARS spreading to other countries.)

3. Three years of Modi Government with no single achievement to show. Job losses all around, both in the organised and unorganised sector. Job creation at the lowest level in the past decade. Slump in manufacturing and agricultural production.

4. Charges being revived against Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti, whose continuance in that post is untenable. The BJP had forced the resignation of UPA ministers for much less. Not mentioning the 90-year old communal losers involved in the same case, since not even their party cares about them anymore.

5. Almost seven months after demonetisation, RBI yet to reveal data on money that came back into the system, percentage of black money that was neutralised.

6. All-round failure in Kashmir, with a by-election being cancelled and postponed indefinitely. This had not happened even at the heights of militancy in the valley. Complete loss of trust, with even school children coming out on the road against the army. This worsening of the situation, from a state of relative peace in 2014, has entirely been achieved by the implementation of the ‘Doval doctrine’, the idiotic plan of the Indian “James Bond”
.
7. Major law and order breakdown in UP under Yogi Adityanath, with too many incidents of murders, gang rapes and police station attacks. Upper caste gangs emboldened by the coming to power of a Thakur, has gone after dalits, especially in Saharanpur and other areas, forcing a counter-movement in some areas. The Yogi has visited Ayodhya to rake up the Mandir issue, that evergreen panacea for all the BJP’s ills.

8. Yogi Adityanath and Manohar Parrikar have become Chief Ministers in their respective states, but they are yet to resign from their parliamentary seats. They plan to do so only after casting their votes in the presidential election. No questions asked, obviously.

9. Major diplomatic failure as China went ahead with the One Belt, One Road initiative, making all the neighbouring countries a part of it.

10. Failure to reduce retail fuel prices to match the fall in global crude oil prices.

If you were watching Repooplick, run by the NDA MP, or Times Cow or any of the Government’s propaganda channels, chances are that you might not have heard about even one of these things mentioned above.
