Sambalpur: Father Thomas Vadackumkara, rector of a major seminary in Odisha, died of a massive heart attack on June 23.
The 49-year-old Divine Word priest headed the Divya Jyoti (divine light), a Divine Word seminary, at Sason under Sambalpur diocese.
Father Vadackmukara belongs to the congregation’s Eastern province and served as one of its counselors.
He was also a professor of theology at Khristo Jyoti (light of Christ), an inter-diocesan theologate, also based in Sambalpur.
He was a visiting professor of Morning Star Regional Seminary at Barrackpore near Kolkata.
