Mumbai: The Syro-Malabar Catholic Kalyan Diocese of Maharashtra is set to organize a global symposium on pro-life in Mumbai.

The November 30 to December 2 event—“Eva- Global Symposium on Life” will take place at Animation and Renewal Centre, Panvel, Mumbai.

The theme is chosen in line with the diocese’s missionary focus on “Witness in the Family”. It also invites other eparchies or Syro-Malabar Catholic Dioceses around the globe to participate in this event and find

more concrete ways to promote and protect marriage and promote the culture and importance of human life.

The pro-life department of Syro-Malabar churches is conducting many awareness programmes in order to prevent the practice of abortion.

About 10 thematic papers have been prepared by research scholars, to be presented in this much-awaited event, in which more than 200 people are scheduled to participate.

The main target audience of “Eva-Global Symposium on Life” includes all the leaders of the Syro-Malabar Eparchies, in particular, those who are interested to proclaim the Gospel of Life.

Kalyan Eparchy Pro-Life Movement, the movement which is steadily engaged in building the culture of life with its mission “Proclaim, Celebrate and Serve the Gospel of Life” had conducted “Forty Hours for Life with the Lord of Life”, to promote the culture of life through the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, September 21- 23, keeping “Eva-Global Symposium on Life” as the main prayer intention.

The side event of this symposium is ‘LIFE Display Competition’ with theme ‘HUMAN LIFE: A Precious Gift of God’ organized by the Kalyan Eparchy Pro-life Movement in collaboration with Catechism Department. This is being conducted for the catechism unit/ department of every parish of Eparchy of Kalyan.

The display can include any form of expressions related to the theme (made by catechism students only): text, painting, sketching, drawing, craft, and collage. The winning entries will be given trophies along with cash prizes.
