Kolkata – The 10th Edition of the two-day World Confluence of Humanity Power and Spirituality (Confluence), organised by Kanoria Foundation, is taking place in at The Westin Hotel Kolkata in the presence of different religious heads representing Jainism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, and Sikhism.
Participants at 22-23 December event included various religious orders like Rama Krishna Mission, Ahisma Vishwa Bharati, Divine Shakti Foundation, All India Imam Organisations, Paramarth Niketan Ashram, and Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Ladakh.
Among those present on the first day were Jain Guru, Acharya Dr Lokesh Muni, Pujya Swami Chidananda Saraswatiji, Sd Paramjit Singh Sandok, Cardinal Telespore Toppo of Ranchi, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, Jesuit Fr Francis Gonsalves of Papal Seminary, Pune, Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi Saheb and others.
“Human development is possible only through a spiritually-energised environment. Spiritualism should be linked to politics, education, economy and justice for harmonious development of society,” said Acharya Dr Lokesh Muni ji.
Humanity, respect for all religions, respect for mother nature and environment, inculcating a feeling of unity in diversity were the key messages that emerged from the first day of the Confluence.
As a practical step, all the religious heads took a pledge to protect the environment and scarce water resources of mother earth and came together in a symbolic gesture to pour water on a model of a globe to countenance a show of solidarity with the concept of preserving water for the future of humanity and also appealed to the world to become aware of conserving water and nature.
The ‘World confluence of Humanity, Power & Spirituality’ aptly christened ‘Enlightenment, a Journey – Through Service’ is aimed towards motivating people to cultivate and integrate the inner virtues with the outer being; to imbibe a strong value system coupled with a rich cultural & religious heritage. Many world renowned dignitaries, spiritual leaders and inspirational speakers have graced the occasion and shared their thoughts at this confluence.
To uphold righteousness, intellect discrimination wisdom, knowledge and spirituality (enlightenment) as well as to support the thought of “Live and Let Live”, SREI Foundation, Business Economics and Institute for Inspiration and Self Development, Kolkata, India decided to promote a conference entitled “World Confluence of Humanity, Power, and Spirituality.”
