Mumbai: Cardinal Oswald Gracias has declared 2018 as the Year of Liturgy for the Archdiocese of Bombay.

The cardinal announced this on January 13 during the launch of “Living in Faith” magazine jointly published by the archdiocese and Tranzmedia Netvision, a global IT services company that manages hundreds of web solutions and technology services.

The cardinal highlighted the significance of liturgy and Christian faith and noted the launch of the magazine as historic for the Church in India.

“We will have many projects to make liturgy much meaningful this year. I am confident that this (Living in Faith magazine) will spiritually be a successful project. Living in Faith magazine will help you to understand the Holy Mass and will develop Faith formation in everyone.”

More than 250 people from the archdiocese and other parts of India attended the program held in the auditorium of the Daughters of St Paul, Bandra, a suburb of Mumbai.

Cardinal Gracias also prayed that the magazine help the faithful to live in their faith properly. ‘Living in Faith’ magazine consists of various sacramental, liturgical contents, especially focused to develop Faith in every Catholics.

George Iype, managing director of Tranzmedia, told the gathering that they chose Bombay archdiocese for the launch because of its vibrant Catholic community. The Kochi-based firm plans to gradually take the magazine to other dioceses in the country. It also plans to bring out books on various topics and for different age groups, he added.
