Kolkata: The World Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will confer the certificate of Merit Award on Udayani, a Jesuit-run social action center in Kolkata.

“I am pleased to write to you that the Jury and Council of Board Members would like to confer your organization (NGO) with the “Certificate of Merit” at the World CSR Congress & Awards scheduled on February 18 at Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai,” said Dr. R L Bhatia, founder, World CSR Day and World Sustainability in a message to Udayani (awakening).

Udayani director Jesuit Father Irudya Jothi will receive the award.

Udayani Social Action Forum is the social outreach arm of the Calcutta province of the Society of Jesus. It works with schools, parishes, spiritual centers, international immersion groups, NGOs, and other organizations to foster a faith that does justice. It also serves as a link between the Jesuit social apostolate in India and the priorities of the Jesuit Conference of the South Asian Assistancy.

The World CSR Congress & Awards congress brings several global leaders under one roof. The theme for the Congress is “Purposeful Purpose.”

The objectives of the World CSR Congress & World CSR Day are to unite for a common cause – making the world come together to observe this day as a ‘World CSR Congress & World CSR Day’ each year and spread the message of sustainable CSR, that which makes a difference to the community at large.

The criteria to award to NGOs or individuals who make a difference to the lives of others are chosen, for the quality of their work rural reach and outlook and ability to contribute value of social change, change can be quantified – especially since it impacts the lives of many. If it does then it is a positive change. But the main is Making A Difference (MAD).

The World CSR Congress & Awards are intensely researched process undertaken by the research cell which consists of Post Graduates in History & Management with over 5 years research experience posts their studies. It is the iconic job of the research cell to produce a shortlist of Individuals who are doing extraordinary work and track the record of their achievements. The shortlist is then reviewed by a Jury comprising of senior professionals from across the globe.

The World CSR Day celebrates achievement in “Sustainable Development Goals”. The team of researchers who researched on the project presented the findings to an independent jury which has decades of experience.
