Jharsuguda: A young woman died on March 16 after her mobile phone exploded while she was talking on the device.
The victim has been identified as Uma Oram, a 19-year-old resident of Kheriakani, a village in Jharsuguda district.
The incident happened when the girl was talking on her Nokia mobile phone it was being charged. She suffered burn injuries on her chest, hands and legs.
She was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered in this connection, Laikera police said.
