Bangkok: A voluntary organization working for the welfare of people of Indian origin across the world has conferred its prestigious award on a doctor from Odisha.

Sarat Chandra Mishra received the Glory of India award on May 4 at a special function in Bangkok, capital of Thailand. Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Korn Dabbaransi conferred the award on the noted doctor, reports odishatv.in.

Speaking on his achievement, Mishra gave credit to his profession and social service.

“It is only my medical profession and service to humanity and social works that I have been able to achieve what I have now. I have undertaken a number of health camps including the one where a record 120 patients were operated,” Mishra said.

Mishra has been working as a specialist orthopedic physician at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for the past 13 years. He has also served as assistant surgeon at various district headquarters hospitals of the eastern Indian state.
