Bengaluru, Oct. 21: A youth hanged from an iron railing inside a Protestant church in Bengaluru after three failed attempts to commit suicide.

The incident occurred in St. Luke’s Church at Chamarajpet, a suburb of the Karnataka state capital, The Times of India reported on October 21.

The desperate youth, who is yet to be identified, first used a cloth to hang, but he fell down. Next, he picked up a broken glass pan and stabbed himself.

Then, the bleeding youth went to the terrace and jumped off, but landed on the lintel.

For the final attempt, he took off his shirt and made a noose with the long sleeve and hanged himself.

The incident came to light when the members of the church, who were attending a meeting on the ground floor in the evening, stepped out and noticed a man hanging from the railing.

Alerted by the authorities of the Church of South India, police rushed to the spot.
