Thalipparamba, July 6, 2019: A Catholic nun has died and another nun was injured on July 5 in a road accident in Kerala.
Sister Regina Maria, a member of the St Joseph’s province of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation, was on her way to church when she was hit by a speeding car. She was 77. Sr Sandra, who was accompanying her, was also injured.
According to reports, the nuns were waiting in front of the Darsana Retreat Center Pushpagiri in Kannur when the accident happened. Although they were taken to hospital, Sr Regina succumbed to her injuries.
The funeral would be held at 3 pm on July 6 at the St. Thomas Forane Church, Kunnoth in Thalassery.
