Vypin, September 23, 2019: A documentary film Sarvodayam Kurian has won the second prize at the Warsaw Film Festival.

The film, “Athirukal Illtha Oral” (Man Beyond Boundaries) is directed by Arun Sivan was shown on September 22 at the 34th International Catholic Film and Multimedia Festival “KSF Niepokalana 2019” in Warsaw.

The film featuring the life and times of legendary Gandhian Kurian Parakkal, which was almost three years in the making, was released on August 2.

Kurian lived on the Vypin Island in Ernakulam district of Kerala.

The Warsaw festival received 65 submissions from 12 countries, including Poland. Other countries were Belarus, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Latvia, Philippines, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, USA, and Venezuela.

The Religion Today Festival Coordinator Olha Vozna writing to producer of the Indian film Cherian Parakkal said: “Let us also take advantage of this [letter] to give you our congratulations. We were very impressed by the quality and content of your film and are very much looking forward to having it as part of our festival.”

Earlier on August 15, the 50-minute Malayalam language documentary with subtitles in English had its world premiere on Goodness TV both in India and USA.
