New Delhi, October 12, 2019: The Indian Catholic Press Association (ICPA) has invited nominations for three of its prestigious annual awards.

The awards will be distributed at a national convention of Christian journalists to held on February 29, 2020, at Don Bosco Bhawan, Okhla, New Delhi.

ICPA, established in 1963, is the premier organization of Catholic journalists, dailies and periodicals in India.

Its Fr Louis Careno Award recognizes an outstanding Christian journalist or institution in India who plays a prophetic role in upholding ideals of journalism through writings on relevant issues in Indian languages other than Hindi.

Swami Devanand Chakkungal Award is given to an outstanding Christian journalist or Institution in India for doing the same in Hindi language.

The third award is for the best reportage by a journalist or a publication to promote the cause of the Dalit and tribal communities for at least one year.

The last date for submitting the nominations is on November 30, says a press note from ICPA secretary Capuchin Father Suresh Mathew.
