Bangalore, Nov 13, 2019: Sporting a white cap and a cricket jersey, Archbishop Peter Machado of Bangalore hit the first ball at a cricket match of the priests of his southern Indian archdiocese.

The ground of the Holy Ghost Church in Davis Road was filled with priests, both young and old. Some played, some cheered. Players clad in green, red, blue and orange were seen warming-up.

The cricket match was organized under the aegis of the Clergy Association of Bangalore.

While inaugurating the tournament on November 13, Archbishop Machado said it felt “so good to see priests come together for recreation.”

Togetherness on such occasions bring unity and love. “Let’s work in this direction,” the archbishop said as he launched the game.
