Kettering (UK ) Nov 7,2019: Fr Wilson Kottathil, a Catholic priest belonging to the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS) congregation has passed away in the early hours of Nov 7.  He was 51.

Fr Wilson was serving as a Parish priest in the Diocese of Northampton in UK . He was also head of St. Faustina Mission of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain.

It is thought that Fr Wilson passed away in his sleep from cardiac arrest. The alarm was raised by parishioners when he failed to turn up to say morning mass at the parish of St Edward in Kettering. It is understood that the priest was in poor health for some time and was undergoing medical treatments since 2018.

Fr Wilson Kottathil  hails from Kottayam district in Kerala and belongs to the Archdiocese of Changanacherry.

Bishop Joseph Srampickal head of Syro-Malabar Eparchy of Great Britain led a remembrance mass in St Edwards Church in Kettering for Fr Wilson. In a message to the Syro-Malabar community, the bishop mourned the sudden and unexpected death of Fr Wilson and expressed condolences to the family, friends, parishioners and the MSFS congregation.
