Kochi: A 101-member organizing committee has been formed for the conduct of the national conference of Catholic priests and nuns who have hung up their robes following differences with the Church.
The conference, the first of its kind in the country and possibly the first in the world, is being organised under the auspices of the Kerala Catholic Church Reformation Movement (KCRM), a laymen movement against the alleged ill-practices in the Church.
The organizing committee comprises 12 office-bearers, a 31-member executive council and a 17- member advisory board.
Members of the committee consist of ex-priests, and KCRM activists.
The advisory board of the organising committee includes James Kottoor, Joseph Mattapally, Sakkariyas Nedunkanal, Chacko Kalarikkal, T V Paul Thaliyan, Samuel Koodal, Lalan Tharakan Ezhupunna, Joseph Padannasmakkal, Fr Snehananda Jyothi, Adv Varghese Parampil, Mathew M Tharakunnel, Joseph Velivil Felix Pulloodan, P S Joseph Panachikkavayalil, Anto Kokkat, Joy Paul and V K Joy.
KCRM office-bearers have informed that a national organisation of former priests and nuns would be formed at the meet.
