Borders And Margins, Re-Visioning Ministry And Mission Revisits A Debate That Is Critical In Seeking Justice And Peace In Our World In Our Own Time. Borders And Are Sites Of Engagement Between Disciplines And Peoples.
This Book Draws Insights From Different Locations Of Margins, To Open New Paths For Theologizing And Move Towards Providing And Celebrating Shared Hope For The Margins.
The Contributors Are Drawn From Diverse Backgrounds And Varied Disciplines And Are Actively Involved In The Process Of Re-Visioning Which Transcends Borders. Re-Visioning Is Necessary Because This Is Not Merely Another Intellectual Exercise, But A Deeply Theological One, Which Intends To Be Authentic And Transformative.
The Sub-Headings Indicate The Yearnings Of The Writers To Represent Their Own Sites Of Margins, Which Are Formed By Each Other In Different Ways. They May Sound Superficial Or Ambiguous, And In Some Sense They Are. But It Is This Superficiality And Ambiguity That Inspire The Process Of Re-Visioning, Because They Attempt To Redraw Margins Once Again. What Is Significant Is The Fact That We Need Diverse Voices Which Draw ‘Meaning,’ From The Margins This Book Helps Those Voices To Be Heard.
Rev. Dr. Dexter S. Maben Is A Minister Of South India, Karnataka Central Diocese, Presently Serving As Associate Professor Of New Testament And Chairperson, Department Of Biblical Studies At The United United Theological College, Bangalore And Secretary, Society For Biblical Studies In India.
