New Delhi: Two girls from the National Capital Region have taken the top two positions in twelfth grade exams under Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The results of the March exam were announced on Monday.
M Gayatri from New Green Field School, Saket, Delhi, has emerged as the all-India topper by scoring 496 marks out of 500.
The second position went to Maithli Mishra of Amity International, Noida, under the National Capital Region. She scored 495 marks out of 500.
Girls again performed better than boys in the CBSE Class 12 results, ndtv.com reported.
While 87.57 percent girls cleared the exams, only 77.77 percent boys could do the same.
Overall, Thiruvananthapuram region in Kerala recorded the highest pass percentage of 95.41.
The pass percentage this year was 82 per cent, 0.7 percent less than the previous year’s record.
The total number of candidates who took the CBSE twelfth grade examination was 1,040,368, an increase of about 1.2 percent from 2014.
