Thiruvananthapuram: The southern Indian state of Kerala is all set to become the first digital state in the country.
State Minister for IT and Industries P K Kunhalikutty said in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram that preparations were on to declare Kerala as digital state possibly on August 15, India’s Independence Day.
Speaking at a function to launch the logo of IT hub Technopark in the city, the minister said proposal with all necessary parameters would be presented in the cabinet for approval in this regard, reports timesofoman.com.
Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy launched the logo at the function and opened the one-month long silver jubilee celebrations. “It is a proud moment for the state. Technopark now provides employment to nearly 45,000 people,” he added. Located at nearby Kazhakootam, Technopark, which began operation in 1990, laid the foundation for the growth of IT and IT related industries in the state.
