Kottayam: Catholic corporate managements running aided schools have decided to launch an agitation against the education policy of the government, leaders of the Kerala Aided School Managers Association said here on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media here, they said this was the first phase of the agitation against the government’s policy on appointment of teachers. The agitation would be launched by Archbishop emeritus Joseph Powathil, chairman of Inter-Church Council for Education, on September 25, The Hindu reported.
Along with a public conference, it had also been decided to launch an awareness campaign targeting the parent-teacher association. The second phase would begin on October 3 by picketing the office of the Deputy Directors of Education. They alleged that the new policy decisions, if implemented, would breach the rights of the managements on appointments.
