Lucknow: With just a week left for the Christmas festival, the entire plains of Uttar Pradesh are under the arrest of festive fever.
Markets of the state capital, Lucknow are flooded with both beautiful and artificial Christmas trees, decorated very aesthetically with items wrapped in gift packs, frills, chocolates, colorful balls and many such products.
A similar find of situation is being observed in almost all the districts of the state. People from different communities and every walks of life are coming with great fervour and enthusiasm for the boxing day festival which they want to celebrate with all possible efforts by merry making of both individuals and communities.
Even the winter blues reaching to the freezing temperature as a conclusion of snow fall in the northern part of the country,it could not deter the festive spirits of the denizens of Uttar Pradesh and they were all set to celebrate it with their utmost capacity, reported webindia123.
Various functions, theme based parties and competition like Christmas cake making, Christmas tree decorations and best of santa clause are also being organized by the party organizers, owner of clubs andresorts in Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra, Allahabad and Varanasi.
While on the other hand, people of Christian community in the Mohanlalganj vicinity have decided not to celebrate the festival like always but to contribute for the rehabilitation of affected people due to deluge in Chennai and also by spreading the message of communal harmony amidst the debate of rising intolerance in the country.
Rita Samuel a native of Raebareli district here told UNI the preparations for the celebration of Christmas have almost been completed and they are just waiting for the great day to arrive and the cake distribution ceremony which is held after offering holy prayers,worshipped with candle to Jesus christ.
Ms Samuel further said, their family are not going for baking the hunter, which is baked in an earthern oven for more than seven days, due to the unavailability of turkey. Thus this time they would be preparing mutton pickle which would be ready by the day. Adding that she also said that their community would like to spread the message of communal harmony in the world and prove that India is the best country to stay.
A concert of famous Bollywood rap singer, Badhshah has also been lined up for the celebration of Christmas in Lucknow on December 26.
