New Delhi: A parish dedicated to Blessed Mother Teresa in the national capital March 6 offered special prayers for those killed during an attack on a Missionaries of Charity center in Yemen.
“Let us pray for the victims and their families so that God grant them peace and consolation,” said Fr Robinson Rodrigues, acting parish priest of Blessed Mother Teresa Church in Indraprastha Extension.
The priest also urged people to pray in a special way for the perpetrators of the attack so that God forgive them and change their hearts.
The March 4 attack at the home of the elderly in Aden claimed 16 people, including four nuns. One of the nuns was from Jharkhand, eastern India.
The congregation also prayed for a Salesian priest who was abducted by the attackers. Fr Tom Uzhunnalil was staying at the convent at the time of the attack. Sister Sally, an Indian nun and superior of the convent who escaped the attack, has told the Indian authorities that she had seen the gunmen taking the priest away.
Efforts to trace the priest have proved futile.
