The makers of Baaghi have released the film’s full official soundtrack! Music for the film has been composed by Meet Bros, Amaal Mallik, Ankit Tiwari, and Manj Musik, with lyrics penned by Kumaar, Abhendra Kumar, Sanjeev Chaturvedi, and Raftaar.
Soft, melodious and simple, ‘Sab Tera’, hooks instantly and one falls head over heels for this Amaal Malik composed romantic interlude. Armaan’s fresh, youthful vocals add to the lingering charm, and Shraddha Kapoor who had earlier showcased her vocal prowess, emerges as a full-fledged and proficient singer here.
Manj Musik who has made quite a name for himself in Bollywood, comes in with ‘Let’s Talk About Love’. Inspired from the retro Beatles classics, the song brings back the rock n roll days and is fun while it lasts, though the arrangements are a bit cacophonous. Raftaar and Neha Kakkar do a good job. The director chips in with the lyrics along with Raftaar.
‘Cham Cham’ presents quite a different side of Meet Bros, who were till now associated with mostly a certain kind of Punjabi dance celebrations numbers. This lovely dance number is truly desi in its soul and totally belongs to Monali Thakur and introduces the female lead with pomp. Kumaar’s lyrics are apt and need to be commended.
Ankit Tiwari’s ‘Agar Tu Hota’ brings back the Ankit Tiwari who was missing in his recent compositions. Even though it’s a trademark Ankit sad, separation number, but one connects instantly with the simple feel, the soulful sadness and lovely crescendo and arrangements.
Big names like Arjit Singh, Meet Bros (along with Roach Killa and Khusboo Grewal) come together for ‘Girl I Need You’. A lovely fusion song, the song is a nice mix of western with Hindustani thrown in and sung superbly.
To conclude, one gives a thumbs up to the audio of BAAGHI as it tallies with our expectations fully. Different musicians for different songs has worked well here, and all have put in their best foot forward. The songs should prove to be a hit with the target audience the youth, especially ‘Sab Tera’, ‘Lets Talk About Love’ and ‘Girl I Need You’, and work towards the betterment of box-office prospects of the film, which releases on April 29, 2016.
