Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday flagged-off an air-conditioned bus to carry differently abled people to Ujjain to undertake a special religious bathing program.
The bus carried members of Blind Welfare Association and their family to the ongoing Simhastha Mela in the cultural capital of the central Indian state.
The passengers were expected to take holy dip in river Kshipra and visit Mahakaal temple in Ujjain, some 190 km west of Bhopal.
Extending best wishes to the differently-abled persons, Chouhan said that every person wish to visit Maha Kumbh and take a holy dip in the holy Kshipra to for spiritual experience.
“The state government has made special arrangements for disabled persons in view of huge crowd gathering at the Mela site everyday,” he added.
The chief minister shook hands with disabled persons while wishing them safe journey. He also asked the officials to make necessary arrangements for their comfortable journey, visit to ghats and meals, The Times of India reported.
Nearly 44 people went to Simhastha mela, the first initiative of the state government for physically challenged persons.
