Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has announced that the state will have its first Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Centre in Itanagar very soon.

“Through STPI, we hope to provide skill training to the youth, while empowering them digitally and economically,” said Chief Minister Kalikho Pul and hoped that the project will generate employment opportunities for educated youths. Pul also added tha all these measures has to be taken if Itanagar has to qualify as smart city and said that the STPI will enable good governance through smart administration by employing new channels of communication such as e-governance, which will allow faster delivery of services and a wider reach. The CM also highlighted the importance of technology in today’s world saying it serves a variety of functions in all important aspects of modern society like education, communication, business and scientific progress and few can imagine living without it.

The STPI would offer statutory, incubation, High Speed Data Communication and value added services including Project Management and Consultancy Services, which will be a big boost for the IT sector in the State and will also trigger private as well as public investment. Also local IT entrepreneurs can use this facility for their start-up ventures and to promote e-commerce. This will help in marketing local produce such as handlooms and handicrafts, apple, kiwi, oranges, rice, etc in domestic as well as international markets, the CM observed.
