Shillong: The World Catholic Association for Communication’s India chapter will organise Mother Teresa International Film Festival (MTIFF) in Shillong in September.

Fr Francis Stephen, MTIFF 2016 North East India director, said on August 8 that the four-day festival beginning September 6 would be organized on the occasion of Mother Teresa’s canonisation and would highlight her life and teachings.

Twenty movies, documentaries and short films, will be screened at the State Central Library. The festival, which was first organized in 2010, will be held in Jowai from September 14 to 17. Fr Stephen said over 800 free passes per show (one day) are available and urged the public to avail themselves of these between August 15 and 30, Shillong Times reported.

Similar festivals will also be organized in other cities like Guwahati, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai and 50 countries, besides India.
