Chennai: Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME) inaugurated its third campus in south India in Oragadam (Tamil Nadu), the automobile hub of Tamil Nadu, on July 29.
The new campus was inaugurated by R Seshasayee, chairman, Infosys. Seshasayee, during his address, recounted examples of Mahatma Gandhi and Mark Zuckerberg being engines of change from their youthful years and exhorted students of XIME to be the Change themselves.
He expounded on the need for education to stimulate curiosity that should lead to creativity and the need to take creativity to fruition by bringing about change, reported The Times of India.
The function was presided over by Cardinal George Alencherry, major archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church while T V Antony, former Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu, delivered a special address.
Dignitaries present on the occasion were: Prof. J Philip, president XIME, former director IIMB, P C Cyriac, IAS, former additional chief secretary, Tamil Nadu, chairman XIME Chennai, J Alexander, IAS, former chief secretary, Govt of Karnataka and Chairman XIME Kochi, Fr Dr P Joseph Christie SJ, Director LIBA, Mr. V Selvaraj, IAS, former Chairman, Madras Port Trust, and Mr. Gokul Santhanam, Senior Vice President, MPhasis and an XIME Alumnus, a press release issued here on Monday said.
