Agartala: A man and a few relatives were arrested for tying her up his daughter with iron chain at his house for 48 hours in a northeastern Indian village.
Police said Jawhar Miah, who works with the Agartala Municipal Corporation at Mollapra in West Tripura district, had chained his daughter Razia Begum on October 21. She managed to break the chain and fled to her neighbour’s house.
Hearing about her torture local people turned against Miah. Getting the information, the police rushed to the spot and arrested her father and few relatives on October 23 evening.
Police said that the used to torture her daughter since she was aware of his illicit relationship with a relative. The girl’s mother had left them because of Miah’s waywardness, thenortheasttoday.com reported.
