Hyderabad: Christians and others have thronged St Francis High School chapel in Secunderabad, southern India, after news spread that the Blessed Sacrament exuded blood during Adoration.
Sisters from St Francis Convent organized the Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel in the afternoon of October 2.
A group of six people started praying after the sacramental bread was put up in the monstrance and kept on the altar. After 10 minutes, one of the group members noticed a red stain on sacramental bread, Sakshi Post reported.
This is the first time that blood has been exuded from an Eucharistic Host in Telugu states.
“It seemed to be like a small scar. After some time, a drop of blood gushed out and spread all over the Host,” sister said.
Many said it was a message from Jesus. One of the devotees said that Jesus bled when he was wounded and if Jesus is bleeding now it is because of people’s sin, adding that people should mend their sinful behaviors and should turn to him.
However, official statement is yet to come from the Archdiocese of Hyderabad.
Blood coming from Mother Mary’s statue had been witnessed in Andhra Pradesh earlier.
