Washington: An India-born model and actress will be among handful of celebrities who will perform at the swearing in of Republican Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.
Manasvi Mamgai joined her father Shalabh Kumar, an US based industrialist and a key member of Trump’s transition team, at his thank you rally in Orlando. The 27-year-old also met the First Daughter-to-be, Ivanka, at the Trump Tower in New York City.
Manasvi, who is often called the ‘Indian Ivanka,’ told NDTV on The Buck Stops Here: “I take that as a compliment. Ivanka is also from the glamour industry and look now, where she is.”
Manasvi won the Miss India title in 2010 and has so far worked in just one Bollywood film – Prabhu Deva’s Action Jackson along with Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha.

Donald Trump, who won the November 8 election despite losing the popular vote by 2.8 million – more than any winning candidate in history – will be sworn in on January 20.
Manasvi represented India at Miss World 2010.
She was born in Delhi, but points out that her roots are from Uttarakhand. She did her schooling in Chandigarh. While at school she excelled in dancing and skating. By the age of 14 she won multiple state awards in dancing, including Dancer of the Year trophy awarded by the Chandigarh Institute of Performing Arts and the best dancer award by the Chandigarh Art Theatre.
She also has many medals in skating, the best being the running trophy in V.L. Shah Memorial All-India Open Skating championships. She has walked the ramp for many top Indian designers.
Mamgai won the Miss Tourism International held in Malaysia in 2008, she also won the Miss Popular subtitle in the contest by voting.
