Bhopal: Members of a right-wing group barged into a church in central India and stopped a marriage between a Hindu boy and a Christian girl.

The police also reached the church in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh state.

The marriage could not be solemnized because of hooliganism, reports newsbits.in on February 28.

The couple later agreed to postpone the marriage. Now, they plan to marry according to the Arya Samaj rituals in Indore, some 470 km south of Shivpuri.

Avnish, a Hindu Ujjain was marrying the Christian girl from Shivpuri. Since Avnish’s family opposed the wedding, he came to Shivpuri to marry the girl.

As a right-wing group learned about the inter-religious marriage, they entered the church and forced the couple to postpone the event. The bride pleaded but it was of no use.

The police, who remained passive during the commotion, questioned the groom about the absence of his family members.
