Aolijen: A total of 85 members of the Class of 2017 graduated from Clark Theological College (CTC), Aolijen- Mokokchung on April 9. More than 1600 people participated in the 2017 graduation ceremony of the Clark Theological College.
In his welcome and introduction, Principal of the College Rev. Dr. Marnungsang observed that in the 45 years of CTC existence, this Class of 2017 is the largest class graduating.
The Principal noted that, the Class of 2017 is not only the largest class in the history of CTC graduation event, but the graduates also includes the first batch of two Master’s degree programme namely Master of Theology in New Testament and Master of Theology in Communication and for which he congratulated the teaching faculty and the students.
The CTC 2017 Graduation activities begin in the evening of Saturday, April 8, with the Commissioning Service conducted for the Class of 2017 in the Multi-purpose Hall of the college.
Education and Communication Secretary of NBCC, Dr. Botoholi was the Commissioning Service speaker. The Commissioning Service concluded with Holy Communion administered by Rev. Dr. A. Temjen Jamir, the Academic Dean of the College. Professor Rongsen was the leader of the Commissioning Service.
Speaker for the Ceremony was Rev. Dr. Santanu Kumar Patro, Registrar of the Senate of Serampore College (University). The graduation day was also the Palm Sunday according to the Christian Calendar, therefore basing on the observation of the Palm Sunday and also indicating one of the most significant signs of our times, the speaker admonished the graduates to involve in the ministry of peacemaking and peace building, Morung Express reported.
CTC contribution towards high quality theological education as well as equipping students for the Christian Ministries focusing on the motto of the College “Called out for the Great Harvest” is visible in reality by the statistic of the graduates.
It is worth mentioning that out of 85 graduates, 12 are from MTh and the other 73 are from the Bachelor of Divinity class and out of this 85 graduates, 42 graduates will be involved in various Church ministries, 17 in teaching ministry, 11 of them will be going for higher studies in the month of June and 15 graduates will be going to states like, in Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Majuli- Assam and Indo-Burma as missionaries.
The Leader of the graduation Service was Rev. Dr. A. Tali Ao, conferring and giving away of Diplomas and Awards to the graduating class were administered by the Principal, Rev. Dr. Marnungsang, Chairperson of CTC Board of Governors, Rowainla, Academic Dean Rev. Dr. A. Temjen Jamir, Post Graduate Dean Rev. Dr. K. Dhanbir Rai and Registrar of the Senate of Serampore College Professor SK. Patro. Graduate’s responses were said by Lalsanglawm on behalf of BD class and Chubayula Longkumer on behalf of MTh class.
