Miao: Miao diocese has started an intensive coaching for young to appear for Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Examinations.
Miao is one of the two Catholic dioceses in the northeastern Indian state.
“We need to prepare our youth today for tomorrow’s tough competitions,” said Bishop George of Miao on June 11 while opening the coaching session at Kristu Jyothi Niwas, Tinsukia, a major town in Assam.
The Salesian prelate said he decided to organize the coaching program as soon as the forms for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Examination were released. The coaching will last until June 21.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Father Thomas Erambil, secretary of Catholic Education Commission in East Arunachal Pradesh, bemoaned the paucity of government officers from the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh. He also highlighted the need for dedicated and committed public servants to serve the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
The 25 young people participants in the program are from the far flunked villages of Tirap, Longding and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh, who would otherwise have no opportunity for such coaching.
The resource persons for the 10-day intensive coaching are from the Insight IAS Coaching team from Bengaluru, southern India.
