Khammam: Scores of Christians participated in a Christmas feast held at the Montfort church here on Monday.
The feast was organised by the Minorities Welfare Department in connection with Christmas festival slated for December 25.
Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar attended the feast. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ajay said Christmas festivities exemplified Lord Jesus Christ’s love for mankind. Serving the needy among other charitable activities would help lead a righteous life.
He listed out various welfare schemes being implemented by the State for the benefit of minorities and the underprivileged sections.
Later, he attended a Christmas feast in Raghunadhapalem mandal.
Meanwhile, the Minorities Welfare Department has initiated distribution of new clothes to poor Christians at various places in the constituency as part of the ongoing Christmas celebrations.
