Tirupur: A Keralite nun died after she fell off a train while coming to Kottayam from Chennai. Sister Stella Kunnath, 74, was a member of the Franciscan Sisters of St Joseph order in Chennai.

She was a native of Kuravilangad in Kottayam district in Kerala.

Early morning on January 12 , another nun, who was traveling with Sr Stella on Thiruvananthapuram mail, informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) that the sister was missing. The nun said she had searched for Sr Stella in the washroom and elsewhere in the coach, but could not find any trace of her.

The RPF and the police launched a combined search for Sr Stella and found her body among the bushes at Koolipalayam between Erode and Tirupur.

Sr Stella had been talking with the nun until 2 am. It is suspected that she accidentally fell off the train while going to the washroom.
