Manila: The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has urged the clergy and consecrated persons to make lifestyle and behavioral changes and go back to being more like Jesus Christ.
“Renew your values, mind-sets, behavior and lifestyles by following the example of Christ, the Good Shepherd,” CBCP president and Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles said in a statement.
The Church on Friday celebrated the World Day for Consecrated and Religious Life with a Mass celebrated at the Manila Cathedral by Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.
Valles appealed to the clergy and other consecrated persons to renew themselves spiritually, especially this 2018, the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons.
“Not just for your own sake, but for the sake of our Church, where you offer a shining example of a life dedicated to following Christ more closely by the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience,” he said.
“Truly become servant-leaders who care most especially for the least, the lost and the last,” he said.
