New Delhi: The Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) has urged Christians in India to pray for the country on August 12.
“Please observe this day in your Churches. Let us give thanks to God for our beautiful country and our fellow citizens. Let us also intercede for the needs of the nation and the issues it faces. God loves India. Let us stand in prayer and bless our dear nation,” said Reverend Vijayesh Lal, EFI General Secretary.
God loves the nation of India and is at work in it. The Church has been called to pray and work for the peace, prosperity, and stability of the nation. The state of our nation and the challenges it faces stirs us to look to the face of the Almighty God and to pray for His unceasing blessings on India.
Recognizing the need for intercession, the EFI humbly initiated a “National Day of Prayer Campaign” in 2017.
The EFI Member Churches and Bodies resolved to observe the Sunday closest to Independence Day of India as our National Day of Prayer: a day when we praise God for our Nation and intercede for its needs and issues.
This year EFI calls for the observance of the National Day of Prayer on 12th August 2018 across India to earnestly intercede for the country, leaders and fellow citizens.
An appeal is being made to all Churches, Prayer Movements, Christian organizations and individual Christians across denominations, to observe Aug 12, which is a Sunday, as a day dedicated to prayer for the well-being, peace and prosperity of India.
