Vasco, Dec. 11, 2018: Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao of Goa and Daman on December 10 said that education must communicate human, social and spiritual values, enabling students to become transformed persons. He called upon
students to work with collaborative efforts in order to fulfill the dreams in their life.

The Archbishop was speaking as the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony of St Andrew’s higher secondary school building at Vaddem in Dabolim in the presence of Panchayati Raj Minister Mauvin Godinho, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, Mormugao municipal council chairperson Kritesh Gaonkar, philanthropist and industrialist Narayan Bandekar, parish priest of St Andrew’s Church Fr Gabriel Coutinho, parish priest of Our Lady of Hope Church Chinchinim Fr Antonio Da Costa, manager of St Andrew’s HSS Fr Camilo Dias, Fr Joevit D’Costa, Fr James Torres e Silva and others. Speaking further, the Archbishop said that through education, students should play the role of salt of the earth and light of the world. He however called upon students to defeat corruption and evil things around them.

The Archbishop appreciated the joint efforts put up by the St Andrew’s management, staff, parents, students, donors and even by industrialists, politicians, members of the Fabrica and Confraria and others in completing the dream project of HSS building.

On the occasion, Panchayati Raj Minister Godinho, Vasco MLA Almeida, MMC chairperson Gaonkar, Parish Priest of St Andrew’s Church Fr Coutinho, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Hope Church Chinchinim Fr Costa, Apprecio Pereira, Annet Coutinho, Higinio Rebello, Carridade Pereira, Mario Lopes, Cedric Dias, Tulio D’Souza, Ketan Nasnodkar, Abhay Kunkolienkar, councillor Fredrick Henriques, Franco Saldanha and Nelson Fernandes were felicitated at the hands of Archbishop Ferrao.
