Bhopal, Jan. 21, 2019: A delegation of Rashtriya Isai Maha Sangh (RIMS) lead by Father Dr. Anand Muttungal met the law minister P C Sharma on Jan. 18 and sought withdrawal of false and fabricated cases of forced conversion against them. The minister has assured to withdraw the false cases of conversion slapped against Christians, claimed Muttungal after meeting Sharma.

“We briefed him that the BJP-led Government in Madhya Pradesh had persecuted Christians in the name of conversion to take revenge as they believed that Christians were supporters of the Congress,” said Muttungal while talking to media here.

Many cases were registered against Christians but not even one could be proved in the court of law, he claimed.

“The BJP and other right-wing organisations believe that Christians and those drawing benefit from the works carried out by Christians too will support the Congress and so they used all means to stop Christian activities in the state,” he said. RIMS’ spokesperson Richard James informed, “There have been about 264 cases in state during 15 years of BJP rule in the state. The organization supporting the BJP has taken help from the police and administration to persecute Christians working in the field of social work, education and religious activities.

They have used power to defame Christians and stop the works done by them for the poor.” State secretary in charge of RIMS Office Mohit Ratre said that they have written to all office bearers of RIMS and in-charges of various Church to help the victims and also avail the benefits of the Government.
